Journey to the Republic 

Mid-19th century America was a time of great innovation and change.  People were moving, politics were changing, technology was advancing and the seas were filled with ships transporting goods.  The SS Republic was no exception but her cargo was.  Held deep in her hold was a fortune in gold and silver coins, destined for New Orleans, when she was seized by a hurricane and sank to the bottom of the Atlantic seabed, 1700 feet deep off of the Georgia coast.  Come relive her spirited Civil War era adventures, marvel at her treasures and the battered remains of the ship.
